Small in size but big in charm, this campground is just six miles south along Skyline Drive from Big Meadows -- and yet it's a world away in atmosphere.
Lewis Mountain's 31 sites are nicely spaced around a single loop. Tenters looking for a quiet place to stay will enjoy the campground, as will folks traveling in small to mid-sized RVs.
Unlike bigger campgrounds in Shenandoah National Park, sites here are first-come, first-served, no reservations accepted. Also, please note that if you are traveling with an RV, you'll need to drive six miles up the road to Big Meadows to take on water or discharge wastes.
